New Year’s Eve is a great time to graze and socialize so hosting an appetizer or hors d’oeuvres party is an excellent way to keep your guests happy throughout the festivities.
These cocktail meatballs are real crowd pleasers, so much so that you may want to make a couple batches just so you get a chance to have a few. And the best part is, they sit in a crock pot prior to and during serving so you’re free to mix and mingle as well.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons water
- ½ cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons minced onions
- Olive oil
- 8 ounces can of jellied cranberry sauce
- ¾ cup chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons lemon juice
Mix all of the meatball ingredients together thoroughly except the olive oil. Put enough olive oil in a pan so you can sauté the meatballs. Make sure the outside of the meatballs are nicely browned or when you put them into the crock pot or they will fall apart.
Mix the sauce ingredients together in the Crockpot and warm up, then add the meatballs and simmer for at least one hour before serving to your New Year’s Eve guests.
